Derivation of the Speed of Light from Maxwell's Equations

Electromagnetism

A derivation showing how Maxwell's Equations can be written into the form of a wave equation, from which the speed of light can be easily determined.

E-Field Wave Equation:

\[ \frac{\partial^2 \mathbf{E}}{\partial t^2} = \left( \frac{1}{\mu_0 \epsilon_0} \right) \nabla^2\mathbf{E} \implies v=\frac{1}{\sqrt{\mu_0 \epsilon_0}}=3\cdot 10^8 \mbox{m/s}=c \]
